Okay so, this week’s post really snuck up on me again…I think this might start to become a recurring theme…
LIFE
Last Tuesday we said goodbye to Kat before she left Toronto to head back home! It was great to see her again and I was sad to say goodbye, but hopefully we’ll be able to see each other again soon!
Then on Wednesday night, I went to see Macklemore with my sister! He was amazing, however…the crowd was not. The venue was small and it’s all general admission. It was sold out which meant we were packed in there like a can of sardines. Also…I’m only 5’3″ which meant that I got to see absolutely nothing. It wasn’t until there were maybe 4 or 5 songs left that we managed to find a break in the crowd and stand somewhere else. Like I said, Macklemore himself was amazing…but maybe next time a larger venue would be ideal.
On Friday, we experienced our first little mini-snowfall of the season here in Toronto. I know it’s not a common thing, but I love the colder weather. I love wearing layers and I love the overall aesthetic of the season. I was pretty excited about the snowfall…although the -18 degree weather was slightly unpleasant.
Saturday was a fantastic day! One of my best friends came to pick me and another friend up so we could all spend the day together! We started by heading to the mall for some Chipotle and minor shopping! We then went back to my place for a quick power nap before heading out to see Thor: Ragnarok! It was pretty hilarious and I would love if we could get a gag reel asap! After the movie, we drove over to my friend’s new place where I proceeded to get them to listen to some Kpop while also watching some youtube videos. Looks like they both fell in love with Jackson a little bit! We then slept over at her place and just had a pretty chill day on Sunday!
Yesterday, I went out to AYCE sushi with a friend from high school/university! It was delicious as always and we’ve decided that we need to hang out more often!
BOOKS
Recently Finished: Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman
Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman has been sitting on my shelf for a little while now. After reading both Bruiser and Scythe, I knew that I needed to add a little more Neal Shusterman to my list, but I just hadn’t had the time to pick it up until recently! Let me just tell you that this book was a rollercoaster ride. It was emotional and dark and a difficult one to read, but it was absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen a young adult book tackle schizophrenia before and it was just done so well within this story. 100% worth reading.
Currently Reading: Siege of Shadows by Sarah Raughley
I’m currently reading Siege Of Shadows by Sarah Raughley, the second installment in the Effigies series! I really enjoyed Fate of Flames and I ‘m so excited to see how this story progresses! I’ll also be a part of the blog tour that is happening next week, so stay tuned for that! I have also started listening to the audiobook version of 99 Days by Katie Cotugno. After reading, and not liking, Fireworks…I decided to give her another chance. So far, 99 Days has been just meh for me, but hopefully it gets better as I keep reading!
Next Up: The Wicker King by K. Ancrum, Depression & Other Magic Tricks by Sabrina Benaim
These are two titles that I’m super excited for! The Wicker King by K. Ancrum sounds like something that I am 100% going to love. It seems like the perfect contemporary read for my taste! I have also really been meaning to get into more poetry and Depression and Other Magic Tricks by Sabrina Benaim seems like the perfect way to start! I can’t wait to dive into both of these!
FILM
Recently Watched: Thor: Ragnarok & Doctor Strange
I finally watched a movie guys! No, even better…I watched two! As mentioned above, I went to go see Thor: Ragnarok this weekend with a few friends and it was hilarious! I absolutely loved it and I can’t wait for a gag reel to be released! While sitting in the theatre, I had mentioned that I hadn’t seen Doctor Strange yet so my friend put it on at her place while I was there over the weekend! Let me just say that it was visually stunning and I’m a little sad that I didn’t get to see it in 3D!
TELEVISION
Currently Watching: This Is Us Season 2, Star Trek Discovery, American Horror Story Season 7, Mindhunter Season 1, Riverdale Season 2 & The Walking Dead Season 8
I’m currently behind on This Is Us, Star Trek Discovery, American Horror Story & Mindhunter because my life is hectic and I suck at keeping up with shows nowadays, but I’m hoping to catch up soon! I did, however, catch up on both Riverdale and The Walking Dead this past weekend! It looks like it’ll be almost impossible to keep up with all of my shows at once.
Next Up: Shameless
Yeah…I still haven’t found the time to start watching the new season of Shameless yet…maybe soon?
MUSIC
Currently Listening To: Island by Winner
This song has literally been in my head for the past two days. I’m glad I discovered it!
As always, thank you for reading!
I was sad to leave Canada too, but at the same time I think I was getting ready to return to Vienna. The time difference has made itself noticeable, but I am getting there. I have to say, I am a little glad I missed the snow storm though. Kinda doubt my clothes would have been enough for that kind of weather hahaha
