Happy Canadian Thanksgiving: Bookish Things I Am Thankful For!

thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving in Canada and I thought, why not take a new spin on the “What I’m Thankful For” posts that usually come out this time of year! Instead of focusing on specific books or characters that I’m thankful for, I thought I’d do something a little different this year. Instead, I’d like to talk about the bookish things that I’m grateful for. I don’t mean material items, but instead the things that being a part of this bookish community has brought to me. Without further ado, here are the bookish things that I am thankful for!

Toronto Book Blogging Community

How could I not be thankful for all of the lovely people that I have met in my hometown just by starting up a book review blog?! Honestly, I have met the world’s most amazing humans who have become some of my best friends. I don’t want to start naming anyone because you all know who you are and I would hate to accidentally miss anyone, but honestly…these are some of the best people I have ever met. On top of meeting up to talk about all things books, I have been to concerts & Blue Jay’s games and done countless other amazing things with these beautiful people. I would not have met any of them if it weren’t for blogging and for that I am forever thankful.

Online Blogging Community

Not only have I met the most amazing bookish people in Toronto, I have met so many countless others online. Whether they’re from other parts of Canada, the United States or in other faraway places, I am so grateful for all of you. You have helped me on my blogging journey and I hope that I have repaid the favour! I have even met a few of these wonderful people in person while they happened to be on vacation in Toronto and I one day hope to meet the rest of you either on your travels or on my own! May we all meet up someday!

Blogging Opportunities

With writing a a book blog came being invited to countless bookish events! When I first started writing my blog, I did it for fun. I had no idea what ARCs were and how book publishers formed relationships with book bloggers. I had no idea that book signings were common in the city and I definitely had no idea that I could potentially be invited to different bookish events. I am forever grateful to be able to work closely with publishers as well as with book sellers. I always get so excited when I see an email in my Big City Bookworm inbox because I can only imagine what amazingness it contains!

Books Of Course!

I mean, how could I write a bookish things I am thankful for post without being thankful for books?! Whether it’s ARCs or just being surrounded by books at Indigo, I will always be forever grateful for books. They are obviously the main factor in what made me start blogging about books so where would I be without them?!

A Whole New World.

Overall, being a part of the bookish community for the past two (almost three) years has been an absolute blessing for me. It’s literally a whole new world that I am so happy to be a part of. It has given me a community to be a part of and you don’t understand how important that it. I love everything that being a part of this community has brought me and I hope to be a part of it for many more years. Thank you to everyone that I have met, for every event I have been able to be a part of and for all of the books I have been able to read.

Now that I’m done being all sappy, what are you thankful for?!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! 🦃🍂
