Weekly Catch-Up: Issue #17

Ah Monday. I never thought I would say this, but I was excited for Monday (August 28th) as it was literally the only day I had left to relax before this week became absolutely insanely hectic for me. I mean, it was hectic in the best way possible, but man was it ever hectic.

With Tuesday came an Indigo Fall YA Teen Preview that I was invited to! I went to my first ever event like this earlier in the Spring and it was amazing! This time around, we were able to take a look at some of the new & exciting books that are being released this fall! I was super excited to be invited again in the Fall! Stay tuned for a full recap coming soon!

Wednesday brought my last day of work before my little mini vacation. It also brought my second ever live KPOP experience, this time with TaeYang! Oh my god guys, HE WAS AMAZIN’ AMAZIN’ AMAZIN’ AMAZIN’ AMAZIN’ (this is a pun). I’m so glad I went to this concert with Jesse (@BooksAtDawn) as it was AN ABSOLUTE BLAST.

As mentioned above, Wednesday was my last day at work before my mini vacation! I had Thursday & Friday off and I made my way over to Fan Expo Canada on both those days as well as on Saturday and Sunday! I had an absolute blast as always! Stay tuned for a full recap coming soon!

Yesterday was Labour Day which meant I had the day off once again and as per family tradition, I went over to the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) which is basically a giant carnival that takes place in Toronto near the lakeshore! I had a blast as always!

Recently Finished: Ten Count Vol.1 by Rihito Takarai & Wonder by R.J. Palacio

Alright, so…I’m not sure how I feel about Ten Count yet so I’ll restrain from saying anything too dismissive just yet. I have the second volume and I’m going to continue with the story before I make any decisions about how I feel. It’s slightly strange, but there are aspects of it that I really do like so far. I also finally read Wonder by R.J. Palacio! It’s about time right? I’ve been meaning to read this for a while now and with the movie coming out soon, I figured now was a great a time as any! I absolutely LOVED it.

Currently Reading: White Bodies by Jane Robins & The Rest Of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness

White Bodies is a psychological thriller that I recently received an ARC of! I love  a good psychological thriller so I was really excited to receive this one! I’m only about 75 pages into it, but so far so good. I’m going to need it to pick up the pace soon though. I have also started reading The Rest Of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness (finally) and I’m not really sure how I feel about this one just yet. I don’t hate it…but I am slightly confused…

Next Up: A Short History of The Girl Next Door by Jared Reck & Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

Two ARCs that I’m really eager to pick up next are A Short History of the Girl Next Door by Jared Reck & Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds! They both seem super interesting in very different ways and I can’t wait to read them both!

Currently finished watching: Game Of Thrones Season 7

Gah! Can you believe this season is already over?! And that ending…oh my god. I can’t wait for the last season…however I’m going to have to aren’t I? It’s so far away!

Currently Listening To: BTS “Serendipity” Comeback Trailer

Okay…so this isn’t really an official song or anything yet…but OMG I CAN’T WITH THIS COMEBACK.

There you have it, my wrap up for the week! What have you do/read/watch/listen to recently?

Thanks for reading!

  1. Mondays are my favourite day of the week purely because it’s my day off haha. It sounds like you had an absolutely amazing week. Your Yuri P. cosplay is GOLDEN! I can’t believe this series of Game of Thrones is over already. I have some mixed feelings about the series but I can’t deny that I’m still super excited about the final one, I just can’t believe we have to wait so long for it.

It totally was an amazing week, however it was also very exhausting haha! Thank you so much! He was super easy to cosplay and it was nice to get back into dressing up again!
