It’s time for another Top 10 Tuesday!!! For those of you who don’t know, Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the folks over at The Broke and the Bookish! This week we were asked to discuss books that we believe should be on required reading lists in schools. Based on the books that I have read, I have decided to choose books that contain heavier themes and concepts. Books that may not necessarily be accepted into certain school board curriculums, but maybe should be based on their subject matter.

Beartown by Fredrik Backman

People say Beartown is finished. A tiny community nestled deep in the forest, it is slowly losing ground to the ever encroaching trees. But down by the lake stands an old ice rink, built generations ago by the working men who founded this town. Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner

There you have it! A list of books that I think should be a part of the high school/university reading list/curriculum. While some people find these books and aspects of their stories to be controversial, I think that they all contain important stories that should be shared and learned from.
