It’s time for another weekly update! Keep reading to find out the books I read this past week as well as what I plan on reading next! I also mention both films and television series that I have been watching. But first, let’s start with a quick life update!
Life
With this week came the beginning of August and with the beginning of August came ARC August! To learn more about ARC August, you can check out my blog post which also features my TBR! Hopefully I can breeze through quite a few of my ARCS especially considering this coming Monday is a holiday!
On Tuesday, we had a little event at work called Dessertapalooza where we had crepes, gelato, cupcakes, cookies, candy and a bunch of other lovely desserts! It was a fantastic day to say the least!
On Wednesday, I had the priveledge of being able to see an advance screening of The Dark Tower in Toronto with a few other bloggers and while it wasn’t as amazing as I had hoped it would be, it was still a decent & enjoyable movie. You’ll be able to see more of my thoughts in my review which will be posted next week!
On Friday, I had the absolute pleasure of going to see A Very Potter Musical with a few fellow friends/bloggers and we had an absolute blast! I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in ages, it was fantastic and I’m so glad I ended up going!
Other than that, as mentioned above, this weekend is a long one with Monday being a holiday! I can’t wait to use the extra time to read, blog and sleep! Sounds like a perfect weekend to me!
Books
Recently Finished: The Gentleman’s Guide To Vice & Virtue, Taproot by Keezy Young, Generations by Flavia Bondi
This week I finished The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice & Virtue by Mackenzi Lee and oh my gosh guys, it’s definitely a new favourite of mine! It was so so so good! I listened to it as an audiobook and I absolutely fell in love with the characters and the story! Stay tuned for my review next week! I also read two graphic novels thanks to NetGalley. Taproot by Keezy Young was super cute and fast paced. I really enjoyed the characters, but there was a little too much going on in terms of storyline. Generations by Flavia Bondi was a great coming of age story with some deeper and more serious themes. It was also written by an Italian author about an Italian family so it was pretty relatable for me coming from an Italian family! My mini-reviews for both of these graphic novels will be out next week!
Currently Reading: Project Pandora by Aden Polydoros & Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
As part of ARC August I have picked up Project Pandora by Aden Ploydoros! I’m about 100 pages into it now and it’s been pretty intriguing so far, but also a little hard to follow. We’ll see how it turns out! I hope to finish this one this weekend. I also started listening to Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut on audiobook and I’m not sure how I’m feeling about it so far. I’m not very far into it yet though so we’ll see how it goes!
Next Up: Are You Sleeping by Kathleen Barber & A Map For Wrecked Girls by Jessica Taylor
Next up for me will be a whole bunch of ARCs! I’m taking part in Arc August this year which basically a challenge in which we devote the whole month to reading the ARCs we’ve been neglecting! I’ll have a post up all about that tomorrow! For now, the first two up on my list are Are You Sleeping by Katheleen Barber and A Map For Wrecked Girls by Jessica Taylor! I can’t wait too start reading both of these!
Film
Recently Watched: Dark Tower
As mentioned above, I was able to catch an advance screening of Dark Tower on Wednesday before its Friday release date! My review will be up soon, so I won’t say too much here, but just know I was slightly underwhelmed.
Television
Currently watching/binging: Shadowhunters + Sailor Moon + Game Of Thrones
I am still currently binge watching and trying to keep up with the same shows as the past week! I haven’t added anything new to the list yet, but Netflix has been releasing a few titles that I have been interested in checking out soon!
Music
Currently listening to: Got7 (this music video kills me)
There you have it! My weekly update for the past week!
Thank you for reading!
Look at those crepes! I’m drooling!!! Looks like you had an amazing week! The cover for Project Pandora looks interesting – can’t wait to hear what you think of it! Hope this week is just as amazing for you!
