I don’t know about you, but I am just not a beach person. Actually, I’m really just not a summer person and I’ve noticed that my bookish references lean that way too. When I tried to think of summer read to recommend I literally could think of none that I have read. I don’t really tend to read light and fluffy stories which made this week’s Top 10 Tuesday post a bit of a struggle for me. After thinking about it, I decided to recommend books to bring to the cottage instead. While people generally visit their cottages in the summer, there’s something about them that fits my personality more. They’re more quiet and serene. The books I’ll be recommending today would be perfect to read while sitting on the dock by a lake or inside a cabin as it rains. Here are my Top 10 books to bring with you to the cottage!

 Most of these books are a little darker in nature or maybe a little more serious than something easy and breezy that you would take to the beach, but as I mentioned…I’m really just not a summer at the beach kind of reader. These are the kinds of books I would have loved to have read while sitting by a lake during a nice cool evening.
