It’s time for another weekly update! Keep reading to find out the books I read this past week as well as what I plan on reading next! I also mention both films and television series that I have been watching. But first, let’s start with a quick life update!
Life
First of all, I feel like this week went by so fast! I don’t even remember what happened at the start of the week. However, on Wednesday, I volunteered with the people that I work with as a way to give back to our community! We sorted through donated food that would be given to children in need of lunches and snacks while they’re away at summer camps. We had a lot of fun and it’s always so great to give back to those in need! Right after volunteering, I hopped in an uber and made my way over to Indigo because Jenny Han was going to be there! I still haven’t read her books (don’t kill me), but I know a lot of people who have recommended them to me. I decided to get a book signed for someone else this time around, but I hope to read them soon! It’s a long weekend for us in Canada as we celebrate Victoria Day! I hope to read a lot this weekend and hopefully schedule a few upcoming blog posts!
Books
Recently Finished: Eliza & Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia & The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda
Guys, Eliza And Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia was so damn good. I can’t remember the last time I was able to read over 250 pages in one sitting. As you know, I have a terrible attention span and it takes a great story to hold my attention for that long. You can read more of my thoughts here. While Eliza And Her Monsters was phenomenal, I was left feeling a little indifferent about The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda. While it had me at the edge of my seat, the ending felt a little underwhelming. You can read more of my thoughts here.
Currently reading: A Court Of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas & Six Stories by Matt Wesolowski
I’m still making my way through A Court Of Wings & Ruin and I’m now about 75% of the way through it. I’m really enjoying it so far and it really is like watching a movie, the story is that captivating. However, I’m so sick of reading Feyre/Rhysand sex scenes. There are so many and they’re all the same. I’m bored. I have also just started Six Stories by Matt Wesolowski. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet as I only just started, but so far so good. I am intrigued.
Upcoming reads: The Party by Robyn Harding & Saints & Misfits by S.K. Ali
I will be taking part in the blog tour for The Party by Robyn Harding and I’m really excited to dive into another drama filled thriller! I’m also super excited to pick up Saints and Misfits by S.K. Ali! She’s a Canadian author and her novel is the first YA novel being published under Simon & Schuster’s new imprint, Salaam Reads. I can’t wait to pick it up!
Film
Recently watched: N/A
Ugh. I’ve been terrible at watching movies lately. I promise to watch something soon though!
Upcoming: Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2
I know this has been here for the past two weeks. At first, I just didn’t have the time and now that I do, I’m just so tired. Hopefully I’ll be able to watch it this coming week!
Television
Currently finished watching: Riverdale Season 1
That finale though!! I must say, I have been pleasantly surprised by this series. I didn’t have high hopes, but now I’m glad I gave it a shot. It isn’t perfect of course, but it is super entertaining.
Currently watching/binging: N/A
I haven’t started binging anything new just yet, but I hope to start something new soon! I just need to choose what!
There you have it! My weekly update for this past week!
Thank you for reading!
Ha, ACOWAR is almost finished for me too and I agree, too much sex between the two main characters BUT at the same time, having a single POV doesn’t really allow other characters to have some fun, I mean, I bet I’m not the only one who waits for a certain flirtatious pair to start banging so they won’t have to yell at each other. Then again, I’m a little afraid of the supporting characters… all have been so paired that it will be interesting who survives, who pairs up, and who finally is brave enough to admit their feelings. Argh, I don’t want it to end!
Don’t worry, I’ve been pretty much the same with shows and movies as you, and I’ve only read 3 books this month so,..I’m feeling a little behind. 😀

This is very true! It would be amazing to have different points of view of some of the other characters, especially that certain flirtatious pair 😉 I really need to step up my movie and television game haha I feel so far behind 😛

Same. I have 13 Reasons Why and Sense8 ready to be binged but I just haven’t had the time. Especially since the entire May has been all about the ACOTAR series. 😀

Oh man! I can’t wait for you to watch Sense8! It was so good! I binged it too fast though and I had no idea that I was watching the finale and then all of the sudden it was done. Also, I may have got a Jenny Han book signed for you! 😉
