Last week, I decided that I was going to share some weekly recaps with you where I would discuss books, film, television and other life things with you all! I felt as though a lot of people really enjoyed that post so I’m back again with round two! Here are this week’s highlights!
Life
Basically, life has been the same old song and dance. May has been ridiculously busy for me so far and this week was no different. Work itself was nuts, but to then create posts for this blog on top of that was nuts…not to mention while also trying to have a little bit of a social life. One of my best friends is getting married in July and this weekend, all the girls got together for her bachelorette party! Now this wasn’t your average bachelorette party. We went to laser tag. Yupp, you read that right, laser tag. And yes, we were playing against little 8 year olds at a birthday party. It was fantastic…until they said “Parents vs. Kids” and we all felt old inside (none of us have kids yet). We also hung out and had a sleepover afterwards where we played party games and maybe drank a little which was all super fun. It was great to take my mind off of how stressed I have been lately.
Books
Recently Finished: American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Well I finally finished reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman, but unfortunately I’m not really sure how I felt about it. While it was definitely written well, I’m just really unsure of how I read 600+ pages without really understanding what the hell it was that I was actually reading. I’m still excited to watch the show though…whenever I get the chance that is.
Currently reading: The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda & A Court Of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
I’m currently almost finished reading The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda and I’m really enjoying it so far. I’m still waiting for a major reveal and/or twist, but we’ll see! I will be taking part in the The Perfect Stranger blog tour and my post will be out tomorrow! I also just started reading A Court Of Wings & Ruin (finallllyyyy) and I am so excited about it. I’ve been waiting for this release and I really hope it ends well!
Upcoming reads: My Fairy Godmother Is A Drag Queen by David Clawson & Eliza And Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
I recently picked up My Fairy Godmother is a Drag Queen by David Clawson which seems like such a fun read and a great new take on the classic Cinderella! I’m also really eager to start reading Eliza and her Monsters which was another highly anticipated read of the year for me!
Film
Recently watched: N/A
Honestly, I had no time to even watch a single film this week. I’m terribly sadened by this, but I hope to watch a few this upcoming week!
Upcoming: Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2
I meant to watch this last week, but as mentioned above…I just didn’t have the time. I do hope to see it this upcoming weekend though!
Television
Currently finished watching: Sense8 Season 2
Well, I finished watching Sense8 and I didn’t even realize I was watching the final episode of the season. All of the sudden the season was over and I cried a little inside. For me, season 1 felt so much better than season 2 and now I absolutely cannot wait for a season 3!
Currently watching/binging: N/A
I haven’t started anything new this week, but now that I’ve finished reading American Gods, I hope to start watching the series soon!
There you have it! Issue #2 is complete! What have you been enjoying lately!? Let’s discuss! & as always, thank you for reading!
Finally someone who feels the same way I do about American Gods. I thought there was something’s no wrong with me. I read it but I was not blown away. I kept feeling like I was missing something

After several attempts at reading American God I just had to admit to myself that I wasn’t ever going to get through it. It hangs over my head like a dark cloud since Gaiman who I call “Uncle Gaiman” over on my blog, is one of my fave authors lol. I am absolutely going to watch the show, my co-workers have been buzzing about it. Sense8 is another show I’d like to watch as well. I hope you enjoy Guardians Vol 2. Baby Groot was killin’ it in the cuteness department lol. I’m also going to be reading Eliza and Her Monsters next, i’m hoping it’s a good one *fingers crossed* Happy reading 😉

American Gods was definitely a weird one, I’m still not entirely sure what the heck was going on haha! Sense 8 is soooo good! Please watch it! I’d love to know what you think! I’m really hoping to see Guardians 2 this weekend! I just finished Eliza and her Monsters and omg it was sooo good! 😀

I am def going to watch Sense8 very soon, I sense a binge coming on lol especially with all the promos for season 2 I was dodging. I hope you enjoy Guardians & Yay for Eliza! this makes me happy cuz I’m really hoping to love it. Ever since reading Illuminae in it’s non-traditional formatting, I’ve been keeping an eye out for similar books. The comic book style was a huge motivator for me, I also should be receiving my owlcrate box soon so I won’t have to read my eGalley 😉

American Gods for me felt the same.. I read it last year? and the more I forget, the more I realise, there isn’t much to grab onto.

No I was just as confused but I thought it was because English is my second language and maybe I just didn’t follow it as well. 😀

Haha definitely not. It was super confusing and I really just don’t understand what purpose it served 😛

Phew, maybe when I get to the series I would understand better. The concept I remember is that many gods who have been forgotten by people started to act out, or smth like that? 😅

Yeah there’s like some sort of war brewing between old gods and new gods and I’m still not really sure what they were fighting about hahaha! 😛
