It’s time for another Top 10 Tuesday!!! For those of you who don’t know, Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the folks over at The Broke and the Bookish! The theme this week asked us to discuss some books that we have recently added to our TBRs. Now I don’t know about you, but I really should NOT be adding anything else to my TBR as my unread list is completely out of control, but alas, I have a book buying addiction. Here are the top 10 books that I have recently added to my TBR that I can’t wait to read!
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
I’m predicting that a lot of you are going to be mad at me for what I’m about to say. I have never read a Morgan Matson book before. I kn0w, where have I been right? I recently came across Second Chance Summer on the Book Outlet website and I figured better late than never right? I’ve heard some amazing things about Morgan Matson and especially this book in particular. I’m super excited to read it soon!
Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven
All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven was one of the first books I ever reviewed on my blog! I absolutely 100% LOVED it so of course I pre-ordered her second novel Holding Up The Universe! I haven’t had the chance to pick it up yet, but it’s super high on my TBR list!
My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix
I mean the cover and the title sold me. I also came across this one through the Book Outlet website and I knew I needed to pick it up. This sounds like it’s actually pretty witty and hilarious and I’m excited to see what it’s all about!
Tattoo Atlas by Tim Floreen
If you don’t know, Shaun David Hutchinson is probably my all time favourite author, especially after reading We Are The Ants at the beginning of this year. I was scrolling through Goodreads and I came across a review that Shaun David Hutchinson wrote about Tattoo Atlas, and I knew I needed to read it ASAP. If Shaun David Hutchinson says to read something, you better believe I’m going to read it.
Gemina by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kauffman
I mean, have you read Illuminae? It was such a unique take on storytelling and I’m incredibly excited to dive into the sequel!
The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon was one of those books that was so hyped up that I didn’t end up enjoying it as much as I had hoped. I’ve recently added The Sun Is Also a Star to my TBR in hopes that I will enjoy it more than Everything, Everything. I have done no research and I have absolutely not read any reviews. I’m also going to wait just a little while longer for the hype to die down before I read it!
Tokyo Ghost, Vol.2 by Rick Remender
I recently purchased the first volume of Tokyo Ghost at Fan Expo Canada earlier in September of this year and I only recently read it. It was so much more than I expected and I really enjoyed it, so of course I picked up the second volume right away!
Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel
Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel is has been on my list for a while now and I recently came across it while browsing through Book Outlet. I mean look at how beautiful that cover is. I just needed to own it and I hope to be reading it soon!
IT by Stephen King
Okay, so. This book is over 1000 pages. However, the storyline is so damn intriguing and with the new film coming out, I’d really like to read it first. I also haven’t seen the original film yet, but I’d also love to read this before watching either version of the film. I just hope I can get through all 1000+ pages!
Kids of Appetite by David Arnold
Mosquitoland by David Arnold was one of the first books I ever reviewed on Big City Bookworm. I absolutely could not wait for something new from David Arnold and FINALLY Kids of Appetite was released in September…except, once again, I have had no time to pick it up! I hope to get to it before the end of the year though!
What have you recently added to your TBR? Do we have any similarities? Let’s discuss!
Thank you for reading!
I’ve been ready for Gemina ever since I sped through Illuminae at breakneck speed, I’m also looking forward to Sleeping Giants as well.

I should really get to buying a copy of Gemina. I’ve waited so long to read it so I have no real reason to not get it. I still need to read Second Chance Summer. I’ve enjoyed all of Matson’s books so I hope you enjoy this one. 😀

I’ve never read Second Chance Summer myself either so i’m looking forward to what you think especially as it is also your first Morgan Matson book. My first book of hers and I think the only one I have read is ‘Amy and Rogers Epic Detour’ which is a cute contemporary! Definitely recommend that one especially if you ever want a book that has a feel good feeling and is easy to get into!

I’ve definitely heard of Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour! Sometimes you just need that feel good contemporary! Totally one of my favourite genres!
