#BookTag: Intimidating TBR!

It’s time for another tag! I was tagged by Jesse from BooksAtDawn to do the Intimidating TBR Tag. Check out his awesome blog! Thanks for the tag Jesse!! Honestly, I probably wouldn’t get tagged in anything if it weren’t for you!

I think we all know the struggle of having an overflowing TBR shelf. I’m a relatively slow reader compared to others and that doesn’t particularly help when it comes to shrinking my TBR. Especially when amazing new books are constantly being released. Here I will feature some of those books on my TBR and maybe some of the reasoning behind why I haven’t read them yet!

What book have you been unable to finish?

The Death & Life of Zebulon Finch by Daniel Kraus

I tried, I really did, to finish reading The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch, but I just couldn’t get into it. The writing was really well done and it felt like the story really had some potential, but it just dragged on and on. Maybe I’ll give it a second chance some day!

What book have you yet to read because you just haven’t had the time?
  • Beware That Girl by Teresa Toten
  • You Know Me Well by David Levithan & Nina LaCour
  • Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
  • Whatever. by S.J. Goslee
  • Jerkbait by Mia Siegert
  • If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo
  • The Great American Whatever by Tim Federle
  • Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

+ many many more.

What book have you yet to read because it is a sequel?

  • The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
  • Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs
  • Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness
  • Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes

I will get to these soon! I promise!

What book have you yet to read because it’s brand new?

  • Little Heaven by Nick Cutter
  • Fate of Flames by Sarah Raughley
  • Boy Robot by Simon Curtis
  • Scythe by Neal Shusterman
  • Tell Me Something Real by Calla Devlin

Here are the most recent ARCs that I have acquired! These will all be read ASAP!

What book have you yet to read because you read a book by the same author and didn’t enjoy it?

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Yeah, I know. Unpopular opinion, but I really just had indifferent feelings towards The 5th Wave.

What book have you yet to read because you just haven’t been in the mood for it?

  • The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
  • 1984 by George Orwell
  • Animal Farm by George Orwell
  • American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
  • Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh

So basically all of the classics and modern classics…you really do have to be in the mood to read classics though, or at least I do.

What book have you yet to read because it’s humongous?

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

Have you seen this thing? It’s a tank.

What book have you yet to read because it was a cover buy that turned out to have poor reviews?

26116473

The Outliers byKimberly McCreight

I really wanted this to be good, and while I haven’t read it yet to form my own opinions, it sucks to hear mediocre reviews. I absolutely loved Where They Found Her and I hope I enjoy The Outliers regardless of the meh reviews.

What is the most intimidating book in your TBR?

songicefire

A Song of Ice and Fire Series by George R.R. Martin

I mean, these things will take me my entire life to finish reading…

And there you have it. Just a few of the books on my TBR that I should really find the time to read sometime soon! Do we have any similar books on our TBR? Which one of these should I read first?

  1. I liked the 5th Wave, but I can also see why people wouldn’t really like it. It could have been a lot shorter for my taste. And A Little Life is huge! I got the e-book because that seems less intimidating, but I still haven’t read it yet. :’)

    1. That definitely helps! I’ve been meaning to read it but I’ve just had no motivation! Now I’m a little more excited! 🙂
