It’s time for another Top 10 Tuesday!!! For those of you who don’t know, Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the folks over at The Broke and the Bookish! I never realized how hard it would be to come up with facts about myself until I started writing this post. Hopefully these facts are at least a little interesting and I hope you enjoy learning a little bit more about yours truly!
2016 is my quarter life crisis year.
Yupp. I’m turning 25 years old in December and I think I might cry.
I am a professional graphic designer.
I went to OCAD University for four years to earn my Bachelor of Design! I now currently work full time as a professional designer!
It’s no secret that I love books, but I also LOVE film & television.
I try to immerse myself into the world of television and film as much as possible. I have volunteered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for the past three years and I love every minute of it. I have also attended Toronto Comicon & Fan Expo Canada for the past 5 years and it’s probably my favourite weekend of the entire year.
I’m an introverted extrovert?
Yeah, I know that’s a bit of an oxymoron, but it couldn’t be more true.
I’m a relatively slow reader.
Some may think that I read quickly, but compared to how fast I’ve seen others read a book, I think I’m definitely on the slower side.
I love all things quirky, weird and obscure.
I don’t know what it is, but I love everything that differs from the norm. I love weird cult classic films, I love books with dark and gritty storylines. Needless to say, Halloween is my favourite time of the year.
I’m not well travelled.
I’ve only ever been on an airplane once and it was to go to Vancouver, literally just to the opposite side of Canada in which I currently live. I want to travel more though, a couple of friends and I are beginning to plan a trip to Tokyo!
I love live music.
I love the experience of watching and listening to some of my favourite artists preform live. I try to attend as many concerts as possible and I keep a scrapbook filled with all of my ticket stubs.
I’m a Trekkie.
When I was a kid, I remember my dad coming home everyday after work and turning on an episode or two of Star Trek. I grew up watching it with him which ultimately led to my first every celebrity crush…Wil Wheaton!
I had an unhealthy obsession with Lord of the Rings.
As the films were being released back when I was in elementary school, I became obsessed. I collected everything I could find that was Lord of the Rings themed. I even saw the third and final film multiple times in theatres.
And there you have it! 10 Facts about me! I hope that you had fun learning a little bit more about me and I would also LOVE to learn a little bit more about you! Post links down in the comments below to your TTT so I can check them out!
I’m an Interior Designer! Christ, having a blog is like a curse and a gift for a designer haha

right now mine are all just kind of taped to a page but I think I want to make a nicer scrapbook type page that I could frame and hang up in my future apartment one day haha! It’s fun being a designer sometimes! Other times it can be quite stressful, but I’m glad I have a job that was in the field that I studied! 😀

That would be really cute 🙂
I bet it can be stressful! I know, it’s so nice when all the schooling you went for actually paid off! I’m still going to school, although I haven’t picked a certain major, but it’s so scary to think I’m doing this all for nothing! I’m staying on track and staying positive though! 🙂

An obsession with Lord of the Rings should never be seen as unhealthy. 😉 That franchise is everything. I am the worst person to watch the films with cause I quote them word by word I’ve watched them so many times now. Glad to see I’m not the only introverted extrovert and if I had any designing abilities I would so be a graphic designer. 😀

LOL right, that franchise really is everything! I think I used to be able to quote a lot of the films, but my obsession has calmed down a lot since elementary school haha! Inroverted Extroverts unite! haha!

Its great to learn new things about you especially that your a graphic designer 🙂
I would also say i’m a somewhat slow reader, I once was able to read 3 books in 3 days but that was back when I was a teen and had time to just spend forever reading. Now it takes me longer.
I envy those people that can read multiple books in a week, especially when my TBR is so high. On the plus side being a slow reader I feel like I savior the books for longer

I wish I were able to read books quickly! I definitely agree that I got through books a lot faster as a kid, but I definitely had all of the summer vacation to get through them all! My TBR is also a joke, so I really do hope I can get through them all eventually!

Do not cry over 25. 25 is young and amazing. Wait until your 35. Then it’s okay to cry. 😉 Fun list!

I’m a pretty fast reader (so is my mom, maybe it’s genetic?) but I don’t think it helps. The more books I read, the more I add to my TBR!

I also had (and still do) an unhealthy obsession with the Lord of the Rings. All time favorite movies. My brother and I watch it all the time!

It’s definitely a fantastic series!! I need to marathon them all again soon!!

I don’t believe there is such a thing as an unhealthy obsession with LOTR or any other series for that matter. Rather, we just call those people fangirls. :p And they live in a fandom, which is completely and totally normal… to all the people in the fandom. Those outside it, just won’t understand. That’s okay. :p
Oo! Tokyo is crazy insane! You definitely should plan out your trip before you go so you can maximize all your time there! ^.^
And no worries, I’m actually a slow reader in comparison to slow readers. So, here’s your daily allotment of ego boost! *swoosh!* .>

LOL this was a great comment haha!! I really think I need to marathon the LOTR movies again soon!! I’m so excited for Tokyo and omg yes there is just so much to do! We’re definitely trying to plan our trip as much as possible! 😀

Haha! My brother, sis-in-law, and I do HP marathons every year either at Halloween or Christmas, but we’ve never made it past #4. :p We just started #5 last night and I still want to do an LOTR marathon before I move. Though… we did just finish a Hobbit marathon (which was nice because I watched #3 in Japan without realizing there were two movies before it. >.> I was confused.)
Are you going anywhere else in Japan or just to Tokyo?

you gotta have a little HP marathon once in a while! Honestly…I haven’t even seen a single Hobbit film 😐 We were hoping to also get to Kyoto and Osaka 🙂

Ah! I loved Kyoto! So authentic and traditional! It’s a gorgeous place. Osaka wasn’t my favorite, though. Very modern and designed as a shopping district rather than a traditional, get to know the culture area. Though, perhaps you’re looking for a little of both. ^.^

ooh that’s good to hear! Yeah, I guess we’re just looking to experience a bit of everything! I’m super excited, but slightly nervous about the super long flight haha!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Haha! The flight isn’t too bad… But I’ve been on lots of long flights before. >.> Basically, sleep as much as you can. :p I have an inability to sleep on planes and it sucks, but that’s what movies and books are for. Hee hee!

LOL I’ve only ever been on one flight…to Vancouver from Toronto…so basically nothing compared to what Toronto > Tokyo is going to be like, but I’m sure I’ll survive with a good few movies + books! Thank you for all of your tips! 😀
