Book Tag: The Reading Habits

booktag-05

I’ve been tagged by the beautiful Tiffani from The Book Venom to do The Reading Habits Tag. Check out her take on this tag on her blog.

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Definitely my bed, or if it’s a nice day out the backyard patio is pretty nice!

Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I own a few bookmarks, but I find I tend to use either the receipt from when I purchased the book or a sticky note folded in half.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?
I usually try to get to the end of a chapter before I stop reading. If I can’t do that my OCD makes sure I stop on an even number such as 10 or 20…halfway points are okay too like 25 for example.

Do you eat or drink while reading?
I usually like to snack a little, but nothing that will get the pages of my book all greasy.

Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
I find the TV to be distracting, but I don’t mind a bit of soft music in the background.

One book at a time or several at once?
I usually go for one, but sometimes I’ll have one book in my purse for reading while commuting and another to read at home.

Reading at home or everywhere?
I usually tend to read at home, but I also love to read while on the subway or GO Train, but never in a car or bus.

Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Definitely silently.

Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
Never. It sucks when a story starts to get boring, but I push myself through it. What if I miss an important detail?!

Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
NEVER EVER BREAK THE SPINE!

Do you write in your books?
Never ever. I mark quotes that I like with flag sticky notes and if I really feel the need to jot down a note, I do so on a sticky note and stick that to the page instead!
